This week, we will be introducing a new ongoing series – Enneagram Life Transformations – where we will be introducing past participants whose lives have been impacted since they have been introduced to the Enneagram.

Today, we shine the spotlight on Keith Chua, an Enneagram Type 5, who is an 18- year veteran in the insurance industry.

Knowing About The Enneagram

Keith came to know about the Enneagram through a friend’s casual sharing at lunch. He became intrigued in wanting to know more as during that lunch, he was asked specific questions of why he did things in a certain way and most of what was shared was hitting home for him.

It was then that he decided to sign up for Relationship Studio’s Enneagram Level 1 course.

Experiencing Enneagram Level 1

Keith professed that even though in the past, he knew who he was, he could not find the answers to why he thinks, acts and reacts in certain ways.

Through the logical explanations and presentation of his Type in the course, Keith began to understand the why behind his behaviour.

During his Type’s panel, the trainer said something that greatly impacted him: Type 5s don’t need to do a project beyond what they have to, but they can do that project and STILL have enough ‘me’ time for themselves.

It was at that moment that he experienced a total paradigm shift which showed him that even though he may need to sacrifice a bit more ‘me’ time he initially wanted to, he knew now that he had the capacity to do more work than he thought was possible.

That moment was so powerful that he signed up for Relationship Studio’s Level 2 on the spot! “That was a no-brainer for me,” Keith said as he knew that the knowledge gained in Level 1 had just scratched the surface. Now, with what Level 2 offered, he could go deeper into the inner workings and application of the Enneagram.

Experiencing Enneagram Level 2

“The most impactful moment for me was to see so many people getting healed. It’s my first time witnessing so much tears in a single setting,” Keith shared.

Continuing on, he added, “Through my time in Level 2, I learnt that everyone has a story behind whatever façade they present. To understand that story behind the person, it is always better to take the time to understand the reasons why they are reacting in that way.”

That was the most important takeaway for him during the Level 2 course for him.

Enneagram Life Transformed

After attending both our Level 1 and 2 courses, Keith started to become more aware of the motivations of the people he was talking to, by asking more questions to go beyond what was seen. These questions also helped him speak in a way that clicked and validated each person’s core and inner world. All of which he found to be vital skills in his role in the insurance industry.

He is now using the skills that he learnt in our courses to use the Enneagram to recruit people who would be the best fit for the team he is currently building.

The Enneagram also allowed him to get to know himself and his motivations better; as well as those of his family members and the people in his life. In fact, at the time of this interview, Keith’s wife was attending our Level 1 course and according to Keith, she ‘could not thank (him) enough’ for recommending the course to her.

But what had impressed him so much about Relationship Studio that made him recommend our courses to his wife and the people around him in the first place?
